Frequently Asked Questions
What are funds used for?
Full-time development of HumanityOS, server and infrastructure costs, and building open-source tools that remain free for everyone. Every dollar is accounted for and spent on making this platform better for all of humanity.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Not yet. HumanityOS is not currently a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We plan to incorporate as one when annual donations exceed $50k/year. Until then, donations are personal gifts to support the project.
Why crypto?
Zero fees, no intermediaries, and full transparency. Crypto aligns with HumanityOS's values of sovereignty and self-custody. Blockchain transactions are publicly verifiable, so anyone can audit where funds go. Solana uses Ed25519 signatures — the same cryptography HumanityOS uses for identity.
Is Coinbase or an exchange OK?
It works, but self-custody is better. When you send from an exchange, the exchange controls the keys and can freeze your account. A self-custody wallet (like Phantom for Solana or Sparrow for Bitcoin) means you control your funds directly. Either way, your donation reaches us the same.
All blockchain balances are publicly verifiable. HumanityOS is fully open-source —
